Artist Bio

Medusas Lullaby is the artistic identity of Anna, a UK-based artist of Slavic origin crafting an emotional mythology through surreal interiors and soft-grotesque beings. She holds a BA in Computer Animation and an MSc in Marketing, and her work explores how change, movement and psychological rhythm shape the spaces we occupy inside ourselves. Her paintings blend tenderness and unease, creating figures and environments caught in transitions of identity, place and emotion. Through this cohesive body of work, Anna builds a visual universe where transformation is constant and the viewer is pulled into the tension of becoming.

Why Medusas Lullaby?

My practice emerged from forces I once considered two polarities: Medusa, the severing of past damage, and Lullaby, the soft return to safety. As my practice evolved, it led me to the middle way - the bittersweet symphony, where grief transforms through tenderness, and even pain is met with grace.

My work invites viewers into a sanctuary where pain is welcome, not to dwell in it, but to let it pass through, softened by colour, form, and care.

Now why Medusa? A little bit of bonus lore…

Medusa in my practice is inspired by Turritopsis dohrnii, the so-called immortal jellyfish. For me, it symbolses the quiet, continuous process of rebirth - changing deeply, yet staying true to the core self.

Transformation is not always visible. It often unfolds in silence, like something happening at the bottom of the sea. That depth - still, unseen, and self-sufficient - mirrors how personal evolution feels to me: solitary, slow, and sacred. You’re never quite sure if anyone can see you, but in that pressure and stillness, something real begins to shift.
