‘Even Prettiest Birds have Scars’ - Mixed media 50 x 60 x 1.7 cm 2024

I developed a practice where I cut up the canvas and sew it back together before painting. I used the canvas to overcome a challenging mental period of my life, impulsive ‘accidents’ that gave me a quick sense of emotional relief. I aspire to share a sense of relief with people, who like me, need a sense of solace. A real story leaves marks, scars or patterns and that is what makes it real, honest and beautiful.
